Acid dyes including H Dupont Classique dyes, Fibrecrafts Acid dyes and Jacquard Acid dyes (visit the Fact File to find out more about Acid dyes). These dyes are best used for painting or dyeing silk fabrics as well as for dyeing protein fibres such as wool, camel, fur, cashmere and some synthetics such as nylon. The dyes are set using citric acid or distilled vinegar in a hot dyebath or they can be set using the heat from steam. Discharge Acid Dyes allow for experimentation
